Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD) is one of seven international airports in Azerbaijan. Formerly called Bina International Airport, it was then named after a suburb of Baku. On 10 March 2004, the airport’s name changed after the former president of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev. Baku Airport is located approximately 22 km from the city centre of Baku, taking around half an hour by car.
Your Baku Airport taxi driver will head towards Airport Road for 2.3 km. Shortly after, they will take the ramp onto Airport Road and then continue on Heydər Aliyev Prospekti.
