Fukuoka International Airport (FUK), formerly known as Itazuke Air Base, is the principal airport on the island of Kyushu and is the fourth busiest passenger airport in Japan, bringing in over 24 million yearly passengers. Located 9km southwest of Fukuoka city centre, it takes around 15 minutes to reach.
So when leaving Fukuoka airport, your driver will get onto Fukuoka Urban Expressway Loop Line/C in 3-chome from Prefectural Route 551, and head east on Fukuoka Airport Nishidori Route 1. They will then keep right to stay on Fukuoka Airport Nishidori Route 1 before turning left onto Prefectural Road 551. Your driver will turn right at Enokida 2-chome (intersection) onto Fukuoka South Bypass/National Route 3 (signs for Kitakyushu/Koga) before using the right lane to take the Fukuoka Urban Expressway Circular Route ramp before continuing on Fukuoka Expressway Loop Route/C to 2. Your driver will take exit Tenjinkita from Fukuoka Expressway Loop Route/C before using the local roads in Downtown Fukuoka.
