A local taxi or private transfer is the best option for those who do not wish to wait around for public transport or who are carrying lots of luggage. Local taxis in Nice have a blue “TAXI” sign on their roof and come in a variety of styles. How to get from Nice Airport to Nice centre by tram

There are two new tram lines in Nice. Tram 2 leaves from Nice Airport and takes you into Nice in about 30 minutes, taking a little longer than the public bus. It’s a relatively easy mode of transportation to use and the lack of steps to board the tram makes it a good option for those travelling with a lot of luggage.

Tram 2 runs directly from Nice Airport to the city centre and onto Port Lympia, you’ll need to get off at Jean Medecin Station in central Nice.

How much is a tram ticket from Nice Airport?

Tram fares operate in the same way as the public bus system in Nice. A single-use ticket costs just €1.50 per person and is valid for 74 minutes. You can buy your ticket from the vending machines outside the terminals or online.

You can also purchase a pack of 10 trips for €10, a 1-day pass with unlimited trips costing €5 and a 7-day pass for €15.

Where do I get the tram from?

Terminal 2 of the airport is the first stop and Terminal 1 is the second. If you’re landing at Terminal 1, walk to Exit A0. For Terminal 2, turn left when you come out of the baggage area and you’ll see large doors at the end of the terminal leading to the tram stop.

Taking the tram from Nice Airport to the city centre is a great budget-friendly option, however, it has the longest journey time, taking 30 minutes. However, if you’re travelling with lots of luggage and are set on using public transport, the tram’s ramps make it more accessible than the bus.

How to get from Nice Airport to city centre by bus

Since the tram opened, there’s only one bus that takes you from Nice Airport to Nice centre – Bus Line 12. It stops at the main road in front of Terminal 1, costing €1.50 and taking around 20 minutes.

Whilst the tram is the simplest way to get from Nice Airport to city centre neighbourhoods, the bus takes a more scenic route along the waterfront and it’ll leave you close to Vieux Nice with a stop at Cathedrale – Vielle Ville.

Public buses in Nice cost €1.50 per person for a single-use ticket lasting 74 minutes. Tickets can be purchased from the drivers on the bus with small change, or at the ticket window of Terminal 2 which is outside the terminal before you cross the road to the bus stop.

Look for the Aéroport/ Promenade stop outside Terminal 1. If your plane landed at Terminal 2, you can take the free airport shuttle to Terminal 1.
