Directions for your Porto airport transfer
Porto airport, locally known as Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO), is an international airport and the second busiest in Portugal. It is situated north of the city centre, around 11.9 km away, so a taxi from Porto airport shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes. There’s one major highway that links the city to the airport, so after leaving the airport compound, your driver will drive down the VRI Highway. They will then come to an intersection and turn right to take the A4 to a roundabout, where your driver will exit onto the A28 towards Av. de Sidonio Pais. This road leads directly to the city centre, so from here your driver will use the local roads to reach your hotel.
Why choose a Porto airport taxi?
Porto public transport can be stressful, busy and time-consuming. Not to mention the fact that you will have to drag your heavy luggage from metro station to metro station. If you’d like an easier transfer option, that will drop you off directly at your hotel door, then a Porto airport taxi is for you.
Porto airport taxi prices
The local taxis from Porto airport don’t offer a flat-rate fee for the journey into the city centre. Instead, you will be charged using a taximeter based on the distance you travel. The average cost for this 20 minute journey is €24 during the day and €27 at night. Bear in mind that there may be additional fees added to this price for things such as travelling during major holidays, vehicle type and excess luggage. To secure a flat-rate fee for your Porto airport transfer, we suggest booking it in advance with Welcome Pickups.
