How to get from Treviso Airport to Venice by taxi

Taxis at Treviso Airport are available 24/7 and can easily be found outside the arrivals hall. Taxis serving Treviso Airport don’t use a flat rate, instead, they charge based on distance travelled. How to get from Treviso Airport to Venice by shuttle bus

You have two different shuttle bus companies to choose from when travelling from Treviso Airport to Venice. The first is ATVO which takes 70 minutes to reach Piazzale Roma in Venice. The second is the Barzi Bus Service which takes 40 minutes to reach Tronchetto.

From Tronchetto you need to walk to the Tronchetto dock to board a water taxi or the ferry to your hotel, whereas from Piazzale Roma you can either choose to walk, board the ferry or take a water taxi from the Cruise Terminal docks.

How much does the shuttle bus from Treviso Airport to Venice cost?

The ATVO bus costs €12 for a one-way ticket and you’ll pay €10 for the Barzi Bus.

Don’t forget to factor in the second transfer you’ll need to do from Piazzale Roma to central Venice. Water taxis start at about €70 and the public ferry costs around €10.

Where do I get it from?

Both shuttle buses leave from the Via Noalese bus terminal, which you can find by turning right as you exit Treviso Airport. Please, note that ATVO buses at Treviso Airport can also be labelled as “Brusutti”, as this company often operates this service.

Although buses at Treviso Airport don’t operate 24/7, their departure times do often line up with the major airlines’ arrival times. So, you will usually find a bus ready to take you to Venice. If you are travelling on a budget and don’t mind the longer journey time, then taking a bus could be a good option. Bear in mind you still have to take a water taxi or ferry to get from Venice to the rest of the Lagoon.

Although the Barzi Bus Service is quicker than the ATVO, it takes you to Tronchetto Island rather than Piazzale Roma, so depending on your final destination, this could add a lot of extra travel time to your journey.

If you're in a rush for the shuttle bus, you can purchase your tickets from the driver as you board rather than in the arrivals hall.

Be sure to keep an eye on your belongings at all times while on the shuttle buses as they do make a few stops along the way.

Stamp your ATVO ticket in the yellow validation machines either at the bus stop or on board the bus to validate them.

How to get from Treviso Airport to Venice by train

Travelling by train is a less expensive option, however, you’ll need to use multiple transfer methods and the journey is quite long and complicated. There are no direct trains from Treviso Airport to Venice as there is no train station at the airport.

For the first leg of your journey, you’ll need to catch the Treviso AirLink bus from the airport and ride for 10 minutes to Stazione Fs Duca d’Aosta stop, opposite Treviso Central Train Station. The bus leaves from the airport every 30 minutes and tickets are €5.

To continue your journey by train, you need to catch a Trenitalia train to Venezia S. Lucia, close to Piazzale Roma in Venice. The trains run every 15 minutes on average and a single ticket should be €3.60, with a journey time of 40 minutes.

After arriving at S. Lucia in Venice, you can use a water taxi or the vaporetto from Piazzale Roma to continue your trip in the Venice Lagoon.

You’ll pay €5 for a one-way ticket on the Treviso AirLink bus and approximately €3.60 for the train to Venice from Treviso Central. All in all, the total cost of the trip from Treviso Airport to Venice by train will be around €8.60.

Where do I get it from?

To get the train to Venice from Treviso Airport, you first have to transfer to the city centre of Treviso. You can catch the AirLink bus from outside the airport terminal. The bus will drop you directly outside of Treviso Central Station, where you can catch a train into Venice.

Once you’ve arrived in Venice, you need to change to a water vehicle or walk for the rest of your journey in the Venice Lagoon. To use the water transport system, you can walk from Venice S. Lucia train station to the docks next to Piazzale Roma and board either a private water taxi or the public vaporetto ferry.

Convenience

Although the train offers an affordable connection between Treviso city centre and Venice, it is not a convenient transport option, as you’ll need to use multiple modes of transport and it has the longest journey time. Changing modes of transportation while carrying luggage is not very convenient and you may end up missing your train if there are any delays.
