Cologne Airport Arrivals Information
Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN) has two terminals, Terminals 1 (T1) and 2 (T2), which are connected via pedestrian walkways. Terminal 1 has one main passenger level, while T2 is spread across three floors. Arrivals at Cologne Airport will pass through one of three exits; you can use our live flight tracker above to find your exit and arrange a meeting point with friends and loved ones.

Terminal 1
Location – The Arrivals Hall is located on the upper floor, next to Departures. Arrivals Exit 1 can be found here.
Terminal 2
Location – The Arrivals Hall is located on the Ground Floor. Arrival Exits 2 and 3 can be found here.
Arriving at Cologne Airport
Once you’ve disembarked, follow the signs to Immigration. If you’re arriving from a country within the Schengen Area or on a domestic flight, you can skip this step and proceed straight to Baggage Claim.
At Immigration, you’ll be asked to present your passport, and in some cases, a visa. Germany has visa-free arrangements with several countries that allow entry for up to 90 days in a 180-day rolling period; otherwise, you’ll likely need to apply for a Schengen visa.
The next step is to collect your luggage. Each luggage carousel has a display monitor with a list of corresponding flights to help you find your bag easily. Germany prohibits people from bringing in certain items, so it’s important to familiarize yourself with this list, in case you need to declare anything to Customs.
If you have nothing to declare, use the green Customs channel, after which you’ll find yourself in the Arrivals Hall.
Cologne Airport Transport
For convenience and a door-to-door service with around-the-clock availability, passengers can hop in a local Cologne Airport taxi or arrange a private transfer. There’s a taxi stand located outside each Cologne Airport Arrivals Hall, and in the case of a Cologne Airport transfer, your driver will meet you outside Baggage Claim.
A more affordable transport option is the S19 S-Bahn train. Available day and night, you’ll reach the city center in 15 minutes. The station is located on the basement level of each terminal, and directions are well signposted.
What to do in Arrivals at Cologne Airport?
There are a number of facilities and services available in the Cologne Bonn Airport Arrivals Hall to aid visiting passengers. There is an information desk, transport and car hire counters, currency exchange booths, ATMS, free WiFi, and toilets. On top of that, there are a couple of cafes serving light bites while you wait, and international arrivals can enjoy some duty-free shopping.

Cologne Airport Arrivals Parking
Being met on arrival is made easy, with a Kiss ‘n’ Fly zone on the Departures level of each terminal. The downside is that vehicles are restricted to 10 minutes of parking, once a day.
If you prefer not to rush, parking garages 1 and 2 are just a short walk away, and you won’t be under any time restrictions. Rates start at €6 per hour, unless you are traveling on a Sunday, when parking is capped at €3 between 09:00 and 19:00 in car parks 1, 2, and 3.

The Ryanair check-in counters are usually located between counters 209-220 in Terminal 1. However, Ryanair flights land at both terminals, which is why we suggest checking our live flight tracker above when arranging to meet family or friends.
