CPH Airport – Live Departures

Checking in at Copenhagen Airport

Copenhagen “Kastrup” Airport has three terminals. Terminal 1 is typically used for cargo and some domestic flights. However, the majority of flights leaving Copenhagen depart from Terminals 2 and 3. There are check-in desks in both terminals. Simply check the screens when you arrive at the airport to see if your check-in desk is open and where it’s located.

Terminals 2 and 3 are connected so you can easily walk from one side to the other. Our handy Copenhagen Airport Departures Live Board above will also give you some key information on your flight.

Terminal 2 – Departures is located on Level 1.

Terminal 3 – Departures is located on Level 1.

When to arrive at Copenhagen Airport?

Copenhagen Airport recommends that you arrive 3 hours before your flight if you are travelling outside of the EU. If you’re flying within the EU/Schengen zone, 2.5 hours will be enough to get through security.

What’s next?

After you’ve checked in and dropped your luggage at the correct desk, you can proceed to security.

The security checkpoint at Copenhagen Airport is relatively straightforward. You first need to scan your boarding pass and line up for an available security belt. In the queue, we recommend preparing your items.

You’ll need to empty your pockets into a tray as well as separate your electronics. Your outerwear (like coats and high-ankle shoes) can go in the same tray but they must not be stacked on top of other items.

All liquids in your hand luggage must be under 100 ml and displayed in a clear plastic bag.

Once your trays are ready, you can walk through the metal detector and find your belongings on the other side.

Note: If you’re travelling with children under 6 years old, you can use the “Family Lane” at the security checkpoint.

For those travelling on domestic flights, you’re welcome to use the CPH Express lane for free, which will get you through security faster.

What to do in Departures at Copenhagen Airport?

Both Terminals 2 and 3 have plenty of facilities for travellers. Beyond the basic currency exchange kiosks, ATMs, toilets, and disabled facilities, you’ll also be treated to free WiFi and charging ports throughout the airport. If you want a bite to eat, there are 11 restaurants serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. As for shopping, you can find luxury outlets like Burberry and Bottega. A small selection of local stores sell Danish-made clothing and trinkets. The large duty-free shop has everything from regional snacks and souvenirs to luxury perfumes and alcohol.

(Note: If you purchase any liquids over 100 ml from the duty-free, you’ll need to keep it in the plastic bag provided by the sales assistant for the duration of your flight.)

There are also multiple screens displaying Copenhagen Airport departures information at all times, so you’ll be the first to know if your flight is delayed or ready to board.

Looking for an airport lounge to relax and unwind before your flight? There are lounges in both Terminals 2 and 3. There’s also a silent lounge suitable for prayer and meditation.
