Take a bike tour
One of the most fun and exciting ways to see the wonders of Beirut is by bike. This is a great way to get all of the family out and about in the fresh air doing a bit of exercise while enjoying some of the top sites in the city. Ride past the famous bath house ruins, through the winding streets of the city and along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
There are many bike rental companies in Beirut, but one of our favourites is Beirut by Bike. They provide bike lessons, and great rental options for adult bikes, children bikes and even baby seat attachments. Taking a bike tour of the city is by far one of the best family activities in Beirut.
Go back to the 19th-Century
Just an hours drive out of the centre of Beirut, you will find a magical Palace that has been forgotten by time. The stunning Beit ed-Dine palace know as ‘House of Faith’ is classed as Lebanon’s greatest treasure, and once you arrive, it’s not hard to see why. Originally build by Emir Bechir II of the Chehab dynasty, this 19th-century palace is a breathtaking display of Oriental architecture.
The little ones will absolutely love exploring the ancient grounds and rushing through the palace halls. Plus, every summer, the palace hosts the ever popular Beiteddine Art Festival, complete with theatrical performances and musical shows.
Splash the day away
Tell me about a child that doesn’t squeal in excitement at the mention of a water park and I’ll eat my hat! There’s nothing more exciting for the little ones than a day of water slides, wave pools and fun in the sun. A trip to Waves Aqua Park is definitely one of the top family activities to do in Beirut on a sunny day.
Occupying an impressive 60,000 square meters, this fantastic water park boasts multiple pools, a lazy river, a wave pool, tonnes of slides of all shapes and sizes, and even a few multi-lane slides, so you can race your family members down to the bottom.
