JNX Airport Live Departures

Checking in at Naxos Airport

Naxos Airport is a small transportation hub, so check-in is simple. There is only one terminal building with a handful of check-in desks. Each check-in desk will be labeled with the airline (though only two airlines operate from JNX). Head to your airline’s desk to drop off your bags and collect your boarding pass. You’ll need to have any and all travel documents ready, such as your booking information, passport, and visa (if applicable). Once you’ve dropped off any suitcases, the airline may check your hand luggage for size and weight. The restrictions vary depending on the airline. If everything is correct, you can go straight to the security screening section.

When to arrive at Naxos Airport?

Because Naxos Airport is so small, you don’t need to arrive too early for your flight. However, during the busy tourist season in the summer, it can be crowded. Generally, you should arrive at least 1 hour before your scheduled flight time.

What’s next?

Once you’ve checked in, it’s time to go through security just before the Naxos Airport departures lounge. As JNX is compact, there are only three security lanes with long queues. Therefore, you should prepare your items for screening in the queue while you wait for your turn.

First, remove the liquids bag and any electronics from your hand luggage for scanning. You should also follow the guidance provided as to whether outerwear and shoes need to be scanned separately.

Here are the guidelines for liquids in hand luggage at JNX Airport:

  • Liquids, gels, and aerosols must be carried in individual containers that are a maximum of 100ml each.
  • All liquids in their containers must be placed in one transparent, resealable plastic bag with a maximum volume of 1 liter.
  • Each passenger can carry one plastic bag.
  • Baby food, milk, and other essential baby products do not need to be carried in a plastic bag, nor do they need to abide by the same quantity restrictions. You can carry as much as is necessary for your baby during your transit through Naxos Airport.
  •  If you have been prescribed medicine that is over the liquid limit, you’ll need to present a valid prescription to be able to take it through security.

Note: You’ll need to bring your own plastic bag to carry your liquids as Naxos Airport does not provide them.

What to do in Departures at Naxos Airport?

After successfully passing through security, you can go to the Naxos departures lounge to relax. Because the airport is small, there aren’t many facilities. You’ll find the basics such as restrooms, baby change facilities, and seating. There is one snack bar but no duty-free stores. All of the flights to and from Naxos Airport are domestic (to Athens), and therefore, there are no customs or passport control facilities for departing flights. That said, your passport may be checked as you board the plane, so keep it on hand.
