Nassau Airport Arrivals Information

Nassau Airport, formally known as Lynden Pindling International Airport, is made up of Terminals A, B, and C, however, only Terminals A and B are used for arrivals. Domestic arrivals will land at Terminal A, whereas, international arrivals to Nassau Airport will pass through Immigration on Level 1 of Terminal B, before making their way to the lower level to collect any luggage.

Terminal A

Location – Arrivals Hall is on the Ground Floor.

Operating Airlines – Bahamasair, Flamingo Air, Pineapple Air, Southern Air, and Western Air.

Terminal B

Location – Arrivals Hall is on the Ground Floor.

Operating Airlines – Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Caribbean Airlines, Copa Airlines, Delta, InterCaribbean Airways, jetBlue Airways, Silver Airways, Southwest, Sunwing, United Airlines, and West Jet.

Arriving at Nassau Airport

With the exception of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, most countries are eligible to enter The Bahamas without a visa for up to three or eight months. In any case, all Nassau International Airport arrivals must present a passport that is valid for at least 6 months and a return flight ticket. Note that if you do require a visa, this must be granted before you board your Bahamas flight. 

You will also be required to fill in a Disembarkation card on arrival. Furthermore, passengers arriving from certain South American countries will need to show proof of their yellow fever vaccination.

Once you’ve cleared Immigration, you will make your way to the Baggage Claim area. There are only a few conveyor belts, however, the display screens don’t always show the correct information so it may be best to double-check with a member of staff. The last step is to pass through Customs and make any necessary declarations before entering the Nassau Bahamas Airport Arrivals Hall.

Nassau Airport Transport

Arrivals to Nassau Airport have just a couple of transport options to choose from to help them reach their final destination. Resort and hotel shuttle buses depart directly from the Arrivals Hall, as do Nassau Airport taxis and private transfers. 

The only public transport option from Nassau Airport to Downtown is the Number 12 bus which departs from the main road, along John F Kennedy Drive which is a 15-minute walk from the terminal building.

*It is a 7-10 minute walk from Terminal A to C.

What to do in Arrivals at Nassau Airport?

Depending on your Nassau Airport arrival time, you may find that you have time to spare while you wait to be picked up. The Nassau Airport Arrivals Hall is equipped with ATMs, a bank, souvenir kiosks, bathrooms, and car rental booths to help you start your trip on the right foot. Otherwise, there are a couple of eateries such as Wendy’s and Dunkin Donuts where you can grab a quick bite to eat. 

If you’re staying at a resort or a hotel, check whether they have a welcome lounge for you to relax in while you wait for your shuttle bus to arrive.
