Passengers can travel to more than 40 destinations from Nassau Airport Departures, and it is one of only 15 airports worldwide that offers Pre-clearance services for US-bound flights. To simplify your journey, several airlines offer streamlined check-in services including self-service kiosks, baggage-drop counters, and the option to check-in online. Otherwise, upon arrival at the airport, you can refer to the information display screens to find your airline’s dedicated counter for an in-person check-in.

Terminal A 

Check-in counters for domestic and international flights are located on the Ground Floor.

The A Gates for domestic flights are located on the Ground Floor, whereas B Gates for international flights are located on Level 1 adjacent to the main Departures Hall.

Terminal C

Check-in counters for US flights are located on the Ground Floor, as are the Customs and Pre-Clearance counters.

Terminal C Gates are located on both the Ground Floor and Level 1. The Departures Hall is located on Level 1.

When to arrive at Nassau Airport?

Departures from Nassau Airport should follow the airline’s guidelines on when to arrive at the airport to ensure there is enough time for checking in, security clearance, and immigration. Nevertheless, Nassau Airport recommends allowing 3 hours for flights to the US, and 2 hours for all other international and domestic flights.

What’s next?

Depending on your final destination, the process for reaching your boarding gate can vary. If you are traveling to the US, you will need to complete the US Pre-Clearance process first, which involves passing through Immigration and Customs, before proceeding to the Security Clearance area.

If you are flying domestically or to any other international destination, you will proceed directly to the Security Clearance area to have your hand luggage screened. To ensure a quick and seamless experience, be sure to have any liquids, aerosols, or gels with a size of 100 mL or less separated into a single clear plastic bag. You will be asked to place these on a tray, alongside any laptops or tablets, in addition to removing your belt, shoes, hat, and items from your pockets, if necessary.

If you have liquids greater than 100 mL, these should be packed in your under-carriage luggage prior to checking in, along with any sharp items. If there are no other flights scheduled at the same time, Security can take as little as 10 minutes to clear, however, on busier days you may be waiting up to 30 or 40 minutes. For US departures, automated passport machines have been implemented to help speed things along, and you can also apply for TSA PreCheck so that you can skip the Security Clearance line.

What to do in Departures at Nassau Airport?

The Nassau Airport Departures Terminal features plenty of amenities to keep the modern traveler entertained while they wait for their flight. Whether you are departing from Terminal A or C, you can enjoy a food court as well as separate dining options including cafes, bars and fast food outlets. There is also a children’s playground, several lounge areas, and duty-free shopping. 

The Lignum Club is available to all passengers departing from Terminal A, however, there currently isn’t a premium lounge available in Terminal C. To help get your bearings and experience all that the airport has to offer, we suggest referring to the Nassau Airport departures map on arrival.
