Hamburg Airport is Germany’s fifth busiest airport and the only airport serving the city of Hamburg. Around 15 million passengers pass through here each year, flying to and from 120 destinations in 40 countries.
Some of the major international airlines that operate from the airport in Hamburg include Air France, Emirates, and Qatar, as well as budget airlines Ryanair and easyJet. Hamburg Airport also serves as a hub for Germany’s low-cost carrier, Eurowings, in addition to Lufthansa and Condor. Terminal Information
Terminals 1 (T1) and 2 (T2) make up the majority of the Hamburg Airport complex. Notable for their wing-shaped ceilings, the two buildings are interconnected through the central Airport Plaza and Baggage Claim area. Terminal 1 is the main terminal, used by OneWorld and SkyTeam airlines, while Star Alliance airlines primarily use Terminal 2.
The Airport Plaza is used as a security and transport hub, overseeing security screening for all passengers, as well as housing the railway station. The majority of post-check-in services can be found here, including business lounges. If you are flying to a non-Schengen country, you will have access to most facilities in the Airport Plaza before clearing Immigration.
