Arriving at Calgary Airport
After disembarking your plane, arrivals at Calgary Airport will be guided to baggage reclaim. This is the first port of call before immigration and passport checks. If you lose any luggage, consult the airline desks in the Arrivals Hall.
If you’re arriving on a domestic flight with a local carrier like Air Canada, the Arrivals process is quicker, as you likely won’t need to pass immigration. But all international flights will pass through passport control, where relevant travel documents will be checked. Make sure you have a valid passport and visa (if applicable).
After passport control, you can go through customs. If you know that you’ll have items to declare before you fly, you should fill out the Customs Declaration Form available on the Calgary Airport Arrivals website. Present this form to the customs agents when you reach the customs department. You may be interviewed or have your luggage inspected at the border. This is why it can take up to 1 hour to get through Calgary International Airport arrivals. If you have a connecting flight, you will need to recheck your luggage at your airline’s check-in desk. Check out our full Calgary Airport Departures guide for more details.
