Arriving at Austin Airport
Arrivals at Austin Airport are different, depending on whether you’re flying in from an international or domestic destination and whether you’re a US or permanent resident or a visitor. For both, you will have to follow the ‘Exit’ signs after disembarking. If you are flying from outside the US, you will go to immigration and customs. There are lines for US passport holders, permanent residents, and visitors. If you’re a visitor, your passport and immigration status will be reviewed, so make sure you have all the required documents ready to streamline the process. Your hand luggage may also be checked.
US nationals and permanent resident members of the Global Entry program, some international visitors travelling on B-1 or B-2 visas, and some Visa Waiver travellers can expedite the checks using the automated kiosks.
After completing the screenings, you will access the baggage claim area and be ready to enter the Austin Bergstrom Airport Arrivals Hall.
Austin Airport Transport
Austin Airport Arrivals Terminal offers a direct bus connection to downtown Austin. The bus stop is right outside the terminal, however you’ll need to take a shuttle to the Barbara Jordan Terminal if you arrive at the South Terminal. The shuttle leaves every 15-20 minutes.
The best option for service directly to your final destination is to take an airport taxi from the taxi rank at either terminal. You can lock in a low, fixed-rate if you book in advance with Welcome Pickups.
