Gran Canaria Airport (LPA)

Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) is the only airport located on the island of Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands. It is located on the Bay of Gando, 19 km south of Las Palmas and 25 km from favoured tourist destinations in the south. With annual passenger numbers at around 13 million, Gran Canaria Airport is a known hub for flights to West Africa and to the Atlantic Isles of Madeira and the Azores. It’s home to over 55 airlines and serves as a vital hub for Binter Canarias, Canaryfly, Ryanair, Norwegian, and Vueling.

You can book through the airport’s website or the Aena app, with prices starting at €10.40 per person. Children under the age of 5 years old get free access with an accompanying adult.

There are two options for parking at Gran Canaria Airport, the general parking and the long-stay parking lot. We recommend booking online in advance to secure the best rates. Alternatively, you can pay manually at the booth in P1, on Floor A – just expect higher prices.

Terminal Information

Gran Canaria Airport has just one terminal with three levels. There are two arrival areas, both located on the ground floor. The terminal departure areas are split across the three levels and divided into four zones (A, B, C, and D). Zone A is for flights to the other Canary Islands, zones B and C are for flights within the Schengen Area and Spain, and zone D is for international non-Schengen flights.

 

The terminal building offers travellers information points, currency exchange and cash services, accessible toilets and baby changing rooms, medical services, Special Assistance areas, meeting points, and vending machines. You’ll also find plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants throughout the terminals, as well as a lounge, children’s areas, rest zones, a chapel, and even business facilities.
