Madeira Airport is a single-terminal building divided into four floors; the lower level is used for Arrivals, and the three upper floors are used for Departures. Separate areas are used for Schengen and non-Schengen flights, which can be changed based on passenger traffic flow.
Arrivals all pass through the Ground Floor, while Level 1 is used for checking in. Boarding gates are located on Level 3, where the majority of Departure services can also be found.
