Checking in at Nashville Airport
Most airlines allow—or even require—online check-in, usually from 48 up to 2 hours before departure. If you wish to check in at Nashville Airport or drop off any checked luggage, you can head to Level 3 at the Main Terminal. There, you can locate your airline’s check-in desk on the monitors available inside the Great Lobby and head to the North or South Ticketing Check-In area. Check-in opens 2 to 3 hours before departure, depending on the airline.
When to arrive at Nashville Airport?
The recommended arrival times at Nashville International Airport Departures are 2 hours for domestic flights and 3 hours for international flights. This is to allow enough time for Security, which usually takes from 10 to 45 minutes, depending on the time of day and season you’re traveling, and to reach your Departure Gate on time.
What’s next?
After check-in, you can head to Security. You can help reduce waiting times by reading the airport’s liquid restrictions for carry-ons. In general, all liquids exceeding 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) are prohibited on the plane. Nashville Airport Security programs like TSA PreCheck or CLEAR are available primarily for US citizens and allow you to clear Security faster.
After Security, you can move onto the restricted side of the Main Terminal, and make your way to the Concourse your Departure Gate is in. Almost all Departure Gates are on the same Level you entered from, Level 3.
All T-Gates are right after security, while Concourses A and B are at the north end of the Terminal, and Concourses C and D are at the south end of the Terminal. Keep in mind that Concourse C is the only one with Departure Gates also on Level 4 and at the Satellite Concourse (Gates C4 to C11), which is accessible only by riding the shuttle bus from Concourse C near gate C13.
