Split Airport Live Departures
Checking in at Split Airport
Split Saint Jerome Airport in Croatia, known simply as Split Airport, oversees dozens of flights each week to more than 60 domestic and international destinations across Europe and beyond. The Split Airport departures area is set up to cater for passengers checking in in person at an airline’s counter or self-service kiosk, or for those who have checked in online and just need to place their bag at the Baggage Drop-off Counter.
Split Airport has an online check-in portal for registered airlines which opens up between 12 and 35 hours before a flight’s scheduled departure and closes 40 minutes before take-off. You will need to use their official website for all other airlines.

When to arrive at Split Airport?
When flying from the airport in Split, departures should plan to arrive at least 2 hours in advance of an international flight, and 1.5 hours in advance for a domestic or Schengen Zone flight. Keep in mind that during the summer months when visitors to the coast are at an all-time high, lines can be quite lengthy. To ensure you have enough time to pass through Security and reach your boarding gate, it’s best to allow an additional 30-60 minutes.
What’s next?
Once you’ve checked in, make your way to the Security Clearance gates on the First Floor with your boarding pass ready to present. All departures from Split Airport need to pass through security, regardless of their destination.
Electronics and lithium batteries should be packed in your carry-on luggage (not your checked baggage) since they can pose a fire risk. At Security, you will need to place them in a separate tray, alongside any loose items such as keys, coins, and mobile phones, as well as your belt, hat, and jacket if you are wearing them.
You will also need to place any liquids, gels, creams, or aerosols into a transparent and sealable bag – provided no container is greater than 100 mL – and place them into a tray. If an item does exceed 100 mL it will be confiscated, so be sure to pack larger items into your checked luggage.
On quiet days, the line for Security usually takes just 10 minutes to clear, however, you should allow up to 30 minutes during the summer period.
What to do in Departures at Split Airport?
Unfortunately, food and beverage services are somewhat lacking within the Split Airport Departures area, even more so in the domestic lounge where there is just one cafe available. Furthermore, the seating capacity is often not enough to support the huge number of passengers that pass through in the summer months which can leave people standing while they wait to board.
On the other hand, international departures from Split Airport can relax at a handful of cafes and restaurants, enjoy some last-minute shopping at one of the duty-free stores*, or for some extra luxury, you can relax in the Business Lounge. Each departure lounge area also offers free WiFi, accessible toilets, baby-changing rooms, and charging stations. To make the most of your time, refer to a Split Airport departures map at the Information counter.
*Always check the duty-free limits for the country you are flying to before making any purchases.
