Bogota Airport Live Departures

Bogota Airport Check-in and Departures Information

Checking in at Bogota Airport is easy, with the choice of three check-in options: online, self-service, or face-to-face.

Airlines generally open up online check-in 24 to 48 hours in advance, allowing you to generate a mobile boarding pass at home, so you can simply drop off your luggage at the counter or “Bag Drop” lane on arrival.

Self-service kiosks work much the same way, except you’ll print your boarding pass and bag tags at the airport at the same time you check in. If you plan on using this option, keep in mind that the “Bag Drop” lane typically closes 40 to 60 minutes before departure, depending on your destination.

Lastly, you can check in at your airline’s counter. The Bogota Airport Departures Hall will have digital screens placed at the entrance where you can check the location of your airline.

If you’re not sure which terminal you’re departing from or where to get dropped off, you can use our live flight tracker above to view the Bogota Airport departures for today.

When to arrive at Bogota Airport?

Departures from Bogota Airport should plan to arrive at least hours in advance for international flights, and 2 hours in advance for domestic flights. During busier holiday periods, allow extra time as wait times can increase considerably. For further guidance, we recommend referring to your airline’s advice.

What’s next?

Once you have your mobile or printed boarding pass, head to the Bogota Airport Departure gates via Security and Immigration (international flights only).

To avoid any holdups at Security, make sure you’re not traveling with any sharp or blunt objects, lithium batteries, or anything flammable. International passengers also have to be aware of liquid restrictions, with no creams, gels, or aerosols over 100 mL allowed in their carry-on luggage.

At the X-ray screening, you’ll also be asked to remove any outer layers of clothing, like hats and jackets, and place them in the plastic tubs provided. If requested, you may also need to remove electronics, and any loose items like keys, coins, and phones should be placed in a tub or your bag.

On a good day, you can expect the whole process, including Immigration, to take under 20 minutes. However, during peak periods, wait times can extend to 1 hour. If you want to skip the queue so that you have more time to spare in the Departures lounge, several external providers offer a fast-track service. Just remember that these are not arranged through Bogota Airport.

Note: Containers with powders exceeding 340 grams are also prohibited on flights to the U.S – even if you’re just transiting.
