Frankfurt Airport Arrivals Information

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) has two main terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and a small private terminal, Terminal 3. It’s easy to transfer between the two main terminals via a shuttle bus or the SkyLine service. Both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 offer domestic and international flights, so it’s important to check which Frankfurt Airport Arrivals Hall is the correct one for your flight. Terminal 1

Location – Arrivals A, B and C on Level 1.

Flight Information – Terminal 1 offers both international and domestic flights, mostly from Lufthansa Airlines. This is Frankfurt Airport’s largest terminal. 

Terminal 2

Location – Arrivals D and E on Level 2.

Flight Information – Although smaller than Terminal 1, Terminal 2 offers international and domestic flights from many popular airlines.

Arriving at Frankfurt Airport

After disembarking the plane, you will start to see signs for “Arrivals”. Follow these signs and you will be led to Passport Control. As Germany is a Schengen country, if you are an EU citizen flying from another Schengen country, you will be able to bypass passport control. For all other countries and non-EU citizens, you will need to make your way through passport control. Be sure to keep your passport and necessary documents on hand. For EU citizens with biometric passports, there are eGates available to help expedite the passport control process. 

Once you’ve exited passport control, you will follow the corridors into “Baggage Claim”. If you have checked luggage, be sure to check the overhead screens to see which carousel your flight will be using. After collecting your luggage, you can proceed through customs and into arrivals at Frankfurt Airport.

Frankfurt Airport Transport

Frankfurt Airport is extremely well connected to all the major points in the city and beyond. The regional trains run daily, with connections to the most popular points in Frankfurt. The DB long-distance trains also make trips to surrounding cities in Germany and have connections to popular destinations all over Europe. There are also taxi ranks available outside of Terminal 1 and 2 at Frankfurt Airport from 05:00 to 23:00. You can either take a local taxi or pre-book your transfers with a private company for a more personal and seamless ride. 

*For train access, if you land in Terminal 2 Frankfurt Airport arrivals, you will need to take the SkyLine into Terminal 1 to take the trains.
