Arriving at Geneva Airport

After landing at Geneva Airport, you’ll follow the overhead signage to guide you to the Arrivals Hall. Travellers arriving from a country within the Schengen zone can go directly to the Baggage Reclaim area. All other visitors must first clear passport control. If you’re flying with an EU or Schengen passport, you can use the electronic gates. Other nationalities must queue for the desks manned by border guards.

When you reach Baggage Reclaim, use the display monitors to find the carousel for your flight. Once you’ve picked up your luggage, continue towards the Geneva Airport Arrivals area. Depending on where you’re arriving from and if you’re carrying on any goods to declare, you may have to go through Customs first.

Geneva Airport Transport

Geneva Airport’s Arrivals Hall is well-connected to Geneva city centre. Taxis are readily available outside the terminal buildings and can take you to the centre in around 15 minutes.

Another fast way to travel to Geneva city centre is by train, which takes just 7 minutes. Geneva Airport’s train station is located underground next to the Arrivals Hall. Tickets can be purchased at the kiosks in the Baggage Reclaim area or the machines in the station. These trains depart every 12 minutes at peak times, just keep in mind the need to carry your luggage in the crowd.

Several bus lines, such as bus numbers 5, 10, 23, and 28, also serve Geneva Airport. These buses depart from the bus stops outside Terminal 1. Most buses take around 25-30 minutes to get to the city centre and run every 8-30 minutes.
