One way to start a day with a smile is a good breakfast. Doesn’t matter if you’re at home or travelling around the world, leaving the house on an empty stomach is something we don’t recommend (especially, if you’re on holiday). To be honest, having breakfast in such a fashionable city as Milan can be one of the greatest travelling experiences. If you’re already looking for options, we invite you to check out the best five breakfast places in Milan for 2019.

Icon Cafe Milano

To describe this place in a few words, one would simply say ‘great food for a reasonable price!’ ICON CAFÉ Milano, located northwest from the famous Sforza Castle, is open not only for breakfast but also for lunch or dinner. According to their guests, they serve high-quality Italian coffee and a variety of tasty, fresh-made sandwiches. The staff is very kind as well. The café is usually open from 8:00 a.m. to 10 p.m. but opening times might differ on weekends.

Having a toast for breakfast doesn’t sound very exciting unless you’re planning breakfast at Fancy Toast. As the title suggests, this small restaurant toasts bread to a different level. Baunilla

Sweet mornings happen in Baunilla, a pastry shop located just a few hundred meters from Cordusio metro station. The pinkish and classy interior makes you feel like in a paradise of sweets. Everything looks and actually is delicious here – tartelettes, truffles, one-bite chocolate and fruit candies, cannoli, etc. Baunilla’s buttery croissants are as good as those in Paris. Served with a cup of rich Italian espresso, everything tastes even better! Baunilla is open every day from 08:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m.

Cocotte

Located in the chaotic commercial street, Cocotte offers a lovely escape from the Milanese rush. The bright, kind of a vintage interior, makes this coffee-bakery-kitchen place even more welcoming. Locals say that it’s one of the greatest places to have brunch with friends or family. They serve a variety of dishes, ranging from traditional sunny-side-up eggs or pancakes with jam to something more creative, like spicy couscous or chocolate souffle. Also, Cocotte makes really good sandwiches and high-quality Italian coffee. Talking about price, most of the deserts cost €5, Italian espresso – €1.3, sandwiches – €5-€9, brunch – €18. Brunch offer includes one main dish, orange juice coffee, desert, and a glass of bubbles! Open every day from 07:00 a.m. to 21:00 p.m.
