Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), also referred to as Chek Lap Kok International Airport or Chek Lap Kok Airport, was built on the island of Chek Lap Kok in western Hong Kong in 1998. It’s the only civil airport serving Hong Kong with one of the largest passenger terminals in the world and an annual passenger traffic of around 50 million.
Hong Kong Airport is the primary hub for Cathay Pacific, Greater Bay Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, and HK Express, a focus city for China Airlines and China Eastern Airlines, while Ethiopian Airlines utilizes Hong Kong International Airport as a stopover point for their flights.

If you’re driving your own or a rented vehicle, you can head to the Hong Kong Airport Parking before your flight. Both short-term and long-term options are available, suitable for picking up and dropping off a loved one or for a longer vacation. Hong Kong Airport Terminal
Hong Kong Airport has one of the largest passenger terminal buildings in the world. It’s built on seven levels covering 771,650 square meters and divided into different sections: Terminal 1 (T1), T1 Midfield Concourse, and T1 Satellite Concourse. Terminal 2 was used until 2025 but it’s currently closed due to construction. The impressive Sky Bridge and the SkyPier Terminal are also part of the airport. An Automated People Mover (APM) system facilitates quick transfers between different sections of the terminal.
