The most convenient way to reach Hong Kong downtown area is by taking a Hong Kong airport taxi. Hong Kong has three types of taxis: Urban, New Territories and Lantau taxis. When you are travelling from the airport to the city centre of Hong Kong you must hire an urban taxi. Urban taxis are red-colored and have yellow taxi roof signs. Since the airport of Hong Kong is very busy you may have to wait in line in order to get a taxi. Without traffic, the ride to the city centre takes approximately 30 minutes.

The Airport Express station is located in the terminal building and only 50 metres away from the arrivals hall.

Please note that once you arrive at the Central station you can use the free MTR shuttle bus that travels to 50 nearby hotels.

Those buses depart from the airport every 20 minutes and the average travel time over 1 hour and 15 minutes because they do multiple stops.

There is also a night bus, N11, that travels from the airport to the city centre every 30 minutes from 00:50 a.m to 04:50 a.m. Tickets for the N11 cost 3.40€ (31 HK$).

Once you get off the bus, you will have access to major MTR metro lines.
