Arriving at Lima Airport

After you deplane from the aircraft at Lima Airport, you’ll arrive at passport control promptly by following the overhead signage. Depending on your nationality and where you’re arriving from, you’ll need to present any relevant documentation here, such as passports and visas.

If you’re coming from another destination in Peru, you’ll skip immigration and continue toward the Baggage Reclaim area. Once here, check the carousel number assigned to your flight and collect your luggage before proceeding to the Lima Airport Arrivals pick up area.

Anyone arriving with goods to declare must clear Customs first, while those with nothing to declare can go straight to the Arrivals Hall.

Lima Airport Transport

The quickest way to get from Lima Airport to the city centre or destination of your choice is to take a taxi. Several licensed cab companies operate from Lima Airport Arrivals and can take you to your specific drop-off point within around 30 minutes, depending on the traffic. Another option is to pre-book an airport taxi with Welcome Pickups and travel comfortably with an English-speaking driver in a modern vehicle.

Aside from taking a taxi or private transfer, the only way to reach Lima city centre from Lima Airport is to take a Combi. These are shared minivans that run services from the Arrivals Hall, but they don’t work off a timetable and are usually extremely cramped, with little room for luggage.

If you’re heading to the tourist-friendly Miraflores district and want to take public transport, you can hop on the Airport Express Lima shuttle bus. With this option, you’ll arrive in about 55 minutes. These buses depart hourly from directly in front of Lima Airport Arrivals between 07:00 and 22:00, stopping at four points in the Miraflores district.
