Arriving at Gatwick Airport

There are two passport control areas for LGW Arrivals. One is for the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), British nationals and Swiss nationals, whilst the other is for all other nationalities. If you fall under the latter, we recommend checking visa and immigration advice before your flight.

Once you’ve made your way through Gatwick Airport passport control, follow the signs to baggage claim and pick up any luggage you checked in. From there, all you have to do is head through customs and exit into the Arrivals Hall. Remember to check customs regulations for entering the UK before travelling.

Gatwick Airport Transport

Both terminals have signposted exits to various public transportation options including trains and buses. Likewise, airport taxis and private transfer vehicles are located directly outside both terminals.

*There is also a free shuttle service connecting the two terminals in under 2 minutes.

What to do in London Gatwick Arrivals?

If you arrive at Gatwick early, or your passenger’s flight is late, Gatwick Airport Arrivals offers plenty of facilities and services including toilets, free WiFi, currency exchange services, car hire desks, transport booths, and restaurants and cafes such as Costa and Greggs.

Gatwick Airport Arrivals Parking

It is not possible to park and wait in front of the North or South terminals, so if you’re driving to Gatwick Airport to pick up a friend or family member, there are two Gatwick Airport Arrivals parking options:

The Express Pick Up area in the Short Stay car park or the Long-Stay car parks (both terminals). Express pick-up is a 5-minute walk to the terminals and pre-booking isn’t required, whereas the Long Stay car park is a 10-minute shuttle from the terminals and parking is free for the first 2 hours.
