Arrivals at Stansted Airport

Upon disembarking your plane at Stansted Airport arrivals, follow the signs towards baggage claim and you’ll reach the passport control area. There are two queues to choose from: one for UK and EU passport holders and one for all the rest. Just make sure you check which travel documents you need to enter the UK. 

Next, you can make your way over to baggage claim and pick up your luggage. From there, all you have to do is head through customs and exit into Stansted Airport’s Arrivals Hall. If you have something to declare, remember to pass through the red channel. Remember to check customs regulations before your trip.

Stansted Airport Transport

London Stansted Airport arrivals terminal has signposted exits to a variety of public transportation options including trains, buses, and coaches. There is a train station underneath the main terminal building which can be easily accessed via lifts, with services running multiple times a day from the airport to London and its surrounding areas. You’ll also find a number of bus stops on the forecourt, with private coach companies and public buses running a selection of routes. 

There are ticket machines for public transport services in the public arrivals area, as well as at the train station. You’ll also find car rental companies, taxis, and private transfer services.

What to do in Stansted Airport’s Arrivals Hall?

Whether you’re arriving at Stansted Airport yourself or you’re just picking someone up, Stansted Airport’s Arrivals Hall offers all the necessary facilities and services for arriving passengers. The terminal only has one level, and the Arrivals Hall is located on the right side of the building as you enter. There, you’ll find tickets for public transport, currency exchange services, ATMs, taxi and private transfer services, and baggage services.

You can also enjoy a selection of shops, restaurants and cafes such as WHSmith, Boots, Burger King, and Costa Coffee.

Stansted Airport Arrivals Parking

Passenger pick-ups are forbidden on the terminal forecourt. But never mind, there are two convenient parking options for arrivals at Stansted Airport: the short-stay car parks and the mid-stay car park. There are five short-stay car parks, three of which are premium. If you want the most cost-effective choice, head for the blue or green car parks.

Green and Blue short-stay parking rates:

  • Up to 30 minutes – £10 (€11.70)
  • Up to 1 hour – £18 (€21)
  • Up to 2 hours – £22 (€25.70)
  • Up to 4 hours – £35 (€40.80)
  • Up to 24 hours – £62 (€72)

Mid-stay parking rates:

  • Up to 60 minutes – FREE
  • Up to 2 hours – £5 (€5.80)
  • Up to 24 hours – £30 (€35)

To use the car parks, you can book online in advance or drive up and pay at the airport. Just keep in mind that online prices are significantly lower.
