Arriving at Madrid Airport
If you’re a Spanish citizen or a resident of the EU, you can proceed to the EU/EEA Citizens lane at immigration. For non-EU nationals, ensure you have your passport and any necessary visa (if required) to enter Spain. Once through immigration, follow the signs to Baggage Claim to collect your luggage. If your flight’s baggage carousel is not indicated yet, check the screens displaying the carousel numbers for arriving flights.
After retrieving your luggage, proceed to Customs. Spain uses the red/green channel system: red if you need to declare goods and green if you have nothing to declare.
Once you’ve cleared customs, you’ll enter the Arrivals Hall, where you’ll find various transportation options, including taxis, metro, Cercanías trains, shuttle buses, or rental car services. If someone is picking you up, this is where they will meet you.
Madrid Airport Transport
To arrive at your accommodation after landing at Madrid Airport, you can take one of the Cercanías trains or a shuttle bus. That said, the faster option would be a Madrid Airport Taxi. They’re easily located outside of each Arrivals Terminal.
