Officially known as Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, Mauritius Airport connects passengers with more than 25 destinations across 20 countries, including Rodrigues Island.
Most airlines allow passengers to check-in online up to 24 hours in advance, otherwise, there are airline counters at the airport where you can check-in in person. Air France, Air Mauritius, British Airways, Corsair, KLM and South African Airways provide Self-Check-In Kiosks at the airport where you can print off your boarding pass. If you choose to check in online or use one of the kiosks, hold luggage can be dropped at your airline’s Bag Drop counter to help save time.

When to arrive at Mauritius Airport?
If you’re flying to Rodrigues Island, you should aim to arrive at Mauritius Airport Departures 2 hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time. For all other flights with international destinations, Mauritius Airport recommends arriving 3 hours in advance.
What’s next?
Once you’ve checked in, scan your paper or mobile boarding pass at the Border Control gate inside the Check-in Hall, and then present your passport at the Immigration Counter. Make your way through Security Clearance, placing any laptops or tablets in the trays provided, along with jackets, belts, high-heeled shoes, and any loose metallic items. Liquids, gels, aerosols and creams under 100 mL will also need to be separated into a single transparent bag and placed in a tray, before stepping through the X-ray scanner.
On average, it takes 20 minutes to clear Security and enter the Mauritius Airport Departures shops and lounge area, however, during busier periods, wait times can increase to an hour. For business-class passengers, there is a Premium counter available to reduce the wait time.

Mauritius International Airport is a single terminal building, spread across four levels. The Departure lounges for both domestic and international flights feature free Wifi, charging stations, accessible toilets, food outlets and duty-free shopping. There is a wider selection of Mauritius Airport Departures food outlets and shops available for International passengers, as well as the choice of two airport lounges and an exclusive business-class lounge.

Note that there isn’t a Mauritius Airport Departures smoking area inside the terminal; these areas are signposted at the entrance to the terminal.

How to get to Mauritius Airport?
From downtown Mauritius, the journey by car, airport taxi or private transfer to the airport takes about 1 hour. Alternatively, you can travel by bus from either Mahebourg Bus Station, Mahebourg Traffic Centre or Port Louis Victoria Square Bus Station which takes between 1 hour and 90 minutes.
If you’re travelling by car, there is a Mauritius Airport drop-off zone in front of both Departure Halls on the ground and first level.
