Arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

Once your plane has landed, walk through the corridors until you reach Paris Airport Passport Control/Border Police. One line is reserved for ‘EU Citizens’ and the other for ‘All Passports’. You’ll need to have your passport handy, as well as the correct travel documents – especially if you are flying from a non-Schengen country.

Queueing at Paris Airport Passport Control can take anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour, depending on how busy the airport is. Although EU passport holders usually get through faster. Weekends and weekday rush hours are typically the busiest periods.

Finally, you can head to Baggage Claim to pick up your luggage and then go through Paris Airport customs and exit into the Arrivals Hall. Remember to check customs regulations for entering Paris before travelling.

Paris Airport Transport

You can use various transportation options including trains and buses to get to your hotel or the city centre from Paris Airport. Likewise, airport taxis are available 24 hours a day from outside each terminal.

What to do in Arrivals at CDG Airport?

Whether you’re landing at the airport or picking somebody up – Paris Airport Arrivals provides plenty of facilities, amenities and services for the modern traveller’s needs. The Arrivals Hall in each of the terminals offers free WiFi, currency exchange and cash services, luggage services, designated meeting points, car rental desks, public transport services, shops, and restaurants and cafes like Brioche Dorée, Prêt à Manger, and Exki.

Paris CDG Airport Arrivals Parking

It is prohibited to stop in front of the terminals at Paris CDG Airport. Nevertheless, there are a couple of options when parking for arrivals at Paris Airport. You can either head straight to the pickup and drop-off parking zones or use the main car parks.

The pickup zones are open parking spaces near the departure and arrival terminals. However, you can only stay for 10 minutes free of charge. You’ll then have to pay €1 for each additional minute exceeding the limit. Plus, parking for over 90 minutes is not allowed and may lead to towing.

Likewise, the main car parks, P1, P3, PAB, PCD, PEF and PG, can also be used for short-term parking as each is close to a specific terminal and rates are the same. The first 10 minutes are free and then you’ll pay €3.50 for the first 15 minutes and so on. It’s best to check which of these car parks is closest to the terminal; you can do so in our Airport Guide.
