What’s next?
All passengers outbound from Australia must pass passport control. Departures SmartGate is a straightforward and secure system that automates the inspections that a Border Force officer typically performs for departing travellers. Any passenger taller than 120 cm who possesses a machine-readable passport, whether electronic or paper, may show up at a gate.
Families with small children and other travellers who are unable to utilise Departures SmartGate may be referred to a Border Force officer for manual processing.
You proceed through the security screening point after clearing outbound passport control.
Perth International Airport has similar security and TSA requirements as other international airports. After verifying that all your items are good to fly with you, you can carry them onto the Departures Hall.
Security screening can be quite long, especially in peak season. Allow around 1 hour to cross through customs to be on the safe side for all your international flights.
