The airport in Riga Airport is well equipped to help passengers with reduced mobility (PRM) transfer between the aircraft and their transport on the ground. Aside from lifts, ramps, and accessible toilets that are located throughout the terminal, the airport also employs a specialist PRM Assistance Team.
The team is responsible for providing wheelchairs and other mobility aids to assist passengers as needed, as well as accompanying them through check-in and arrival processes.
If you prefer or need to travel with your own wheelchair, it’s important to let your airline know at least 48 hours in advance so that the necessary arrangements can be made. Riga International Airport is a single-terminal building that is divided into different sectors to accommodate travel between Schengen and non-Schngen Zones. The airport features four levels: Arrivals are located on the lower levels and Departures on the upper levels.
There is a transit corridor on Level 2 where passengers transferring from a Schengen flight to a non-Schengen flight will need to pass through Immigration.
