Arriving at Skiathos Airport

After getting off the plane, if you’re traveling internationally, you’ll need to follow the signs to passport control. There are e-gates available for certain passports. Refer to the signs or airport staff to see if you can use the e-passport gates or not.

Alternatively, there are manned passport control desks available 24/7. Once you’ve passed through immigration successfully, you can head to baggage reclaim to collect your bags. Each conveyor belt will have a screen labeled with a flight number. Find your flight number to find your luggage.

If you’ve flown from Athens, Thessaloniki, or another Greek island, you won’t need to pass through passport control. Instead, you can go straight to the baggage reclaim area in the domestic terminal and retrieve your belongings.

Next, walk through the customs area. If you need to declare any items, wait by the tables, and a customs officer will be with you shortly. Otherwise, you can walk straight through and exit into the Skiathos Airport Arrivals Hall.

Skiathos Airport Transport

Though Skiathos Airport is a small airport, there are plenty of taxis available from outside of the terminals. Skiathos Airport taxis are well priced and will take you to town in just 5 minutes. That said, the taxi stand can be busy during the summer tourist season.

Therefore, you may prefer to book a Skiathos Airport transfer in advance for a smoother start to your holiday. That way, you can skip the taxi queue and meet your driver in the Arrivals Hall.

If you’d rather take public transport, there is a bus service from JSI to Skiathos town. However, there is no set schedule, and the bus can be crowded as it’s the cheapest option. The journey takes around 15 minutes to the city center.

Finally, there are car rental kiosks in the Skiathos Airport Arrivals Hall. However, we recommend booking your rental car in advance to avoid disappointment when you land.

What to do in Arrivals at Skiathos Airport?

Arrivals at Skiathos Airport has everything you need for your onward journey. In both terminals, you’ll find the basic facilities such as bathrooms, accessible bathrooms, baby change facilities, an airport doctor, free Wi-Fi, and ample seating.

There is also a currency exchange and an ATM. If you need cell phone service, there is a SIM card shop (Vodafone). There is a snack bar; however, there are no restaurants on the Arrivals side of Skiathos Airport.

Skiathos Airport Arrivals Parking

There is a free parking lot opposite the Skiathos Airport terminal buildings where you can park for free for up to an hour. This is the best place to park if you are collecting any passengers, as there is no designated pick-up zone outside of the Arrivals Hall.
