SKG Airport Live Departures
Checking in at Thessaloniki Airport
Checking in at Thessaloniki Airport is simple. The first step is to identify which terminal you’re departing from. There are two terminals at SKG Airport, housed in separate buildings. Fortunately, they are linked via a footbridge, so it’s easy to get from one to the other. How do you know which terminal to go to? You can check the Thessaloniki Airport departures board on the website or the screens at the entrances of either terminal.
Once you’ve figured out which of the terminal buildings you need to go to, head to your airline’s check-in desk. This should be labeled with your flight number on the screen above the check-in desk.
Ensure you have a valid passport and ID card as well as your travel documents. For example, your passport, any visas (if applicable) and ticket information. Baggage restrictions vary from airline to airline, so consult the airline website before arriving.
You can also check in online via your airline’s website or app. This means that if you don’t have any luggage to drop off, you can pass straight through security upon arrival at the airport.

What’s next?
After checking in and dropping off your bags, head to the security checkpoint. On slow days, it may only take 20 minutes to get through security. On busier days, it can take over an hour, so bear this in mind.
While you are in the queue for security screening, you can prepare your items.
First, remove any outerwear, including coats, jackets, belts, etc. You should also remove anything that might set off the metal detector, like jewelry, watches, and electronics. Your hand luggage, outerwear, jewelry, and electronics should be placed in a tray when you reach the screening point. You may also be asked to remove your shoes. Your liquid, aerosol, gel, and cream products should be stored in a quart-sized bag. The individual vessels of each product cannot exceed 100ml or 3.5 fluid ounces.
Once all of your items are in a tray, you can walk through the metal detector when prompted and onward to the Thessaloniki Departure Lounge.
Note: There aren’t liquid limits on baby food, milk, and prescription medicines. However, you’ll still need to remove these from your hand luggage and notify the security staff.
