Terminal 2

Operating Airlines – Aegean Airlines, Air Baltic, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa, Sky Express, Transavia, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Olympic Air, Tarom, and Smartwings.

Arriving at Thessaloniki Airport

The procedures for arrivals at Thessaloniki Airport will depend on which terminal you arrive at and the nature of your flight. After disembarking your plane, you can walk directly into the terminal building. International travelers will be guided to follow the signs to “passport control” or “customs” and queue in the appropriate line depending on their passport.

If you have an e-passport, you can use the e-gates for faster transit. Alternatively, line up at the manned desks to have your passport checked by border control. You’ll need to present your passport, immigration form, and any relevant visas.

Once you’ve passed through immigration successfully, you can head to baggage reclaim to collect your bags. The screens above the conveyor belts will tell you which conveyor belt will be delivering your bags by displaying your flight number.

If you’re arriving on a domestic flight from Athens or one of the Greek islands, you won’t need to pass through passport control or customs. You can go straight to baggage reclaim.

Next, walk through the customs area. If you need to declare any items, wait by the tables and a customs officer will be with you shortly. Otherwise, you can walk straight through and exit into the Thessaloniki Airport Arrivals Hall.

Thessaloniki Airport Transport

There are multiple reliable transportation options from Thessaloniki Airport Arrivals to the city center. The most popular choice is to take a Thessaloniki Airport taxi. The journey takes around 30 minutes, and taxis are easy to find outside the Arrivals Hall. However, there may be a wait for a taxi during the busy tourist season.

If you want to skip the taxi queue, we recommend booking a Thessaloniki Airport transfer in advance. That way, you’ll meet your professional driver in the Arrivals Hall and start your journey much smoother.

As for public transport, the KTEL buses are a reliable yet slow way of getting to town. The journey takes around 55 minutes, but tickets are cheap. If you’re traveling light and don’t mind the crowds, this could be a good option. There’s also a night bus that operates from 23:10 to 05:55.

Finally, there are plenty of car rental options available from the Thessaloniki Airport Arrivals Hall. You can book in advance online or head to the kiosks at the airport when you arrive.

Thessaloniki Airport Arrivals Parking

There is no designated pick-up zone at Thessaloniki Airport. Instead, you’re encouraged to park in one of the five parking lots available at the airport (P3, P4, P5, P6, and P7).

P4 is the short-term car park. The others are long-term options. You can park for free for up to 20 minutes in most of the parking lots. We recommend parking in the lot closest to the Arrivals Hall of the respective terminal or P4.
