Arriving at Edinburgh Airport

Upon disembarking your flight, follow the ‘Arrivals’ signs to the Immigration area. International passengers will be checked at passport control, whereas domestic arrivals will skip this step.

While certain countries – including those part of the EU – don’t need a visa when visiting the UK for a holiday, more than 100 countries are required to apply for one before they arrive and will need to present this alongside their passport. If you are from an EEA country, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, or the United States, you have the convenience of using the eGates.

If or when you’ve passed through Immigration, check the arrivals monitor to see which baggage carousel belongs to your flight and proceed to collect any luggage. All Edinburgh arrivals to the airport must then walk through Customs, declaring any items if necessary.

*If you’ve landed on an international flight and don’t have any baggage to collect, consider fastTRACK Passport Control. That way you can skip the queues and be on your way to your destination faster!
