Puerto Vallarta Airport Arrivals Information
Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) is conveniently located just 4.5 km from the popular hotel zone. The airport is set out over one large building with two different terminals, A and B. Terminal A accepts domestic carriers, while Terminal B is the international terminal. The airport sees around 7 million passengers per year, so keeping an eye on your flight’s arrival time and terminal is important. Terminal A Location – Arrivals is located on the Ground Floor.

Arriving at Puerto Vallarta Airport
The arrival process at Puerto Vallarta Airport will depend on which terminal you’re landing in. If you land in the domestic Terminal A, you will head straight off the plane and to baggage claim, without passing through Passport Control. On the other hand, if you land in the international Terminal B, you will have to pass through Passport Control before collecting your belongings. There will be two lines in Passport Control: Foreign Visitors and Mexican Nationals, be sure to pick the correct line and wait your turn. Once at the front of the queue, the Border Protection Officer will ask to see your Passport and any necessary documentation. You will then be granted an FMM tourist visa with a maximum of 180 days.
Once through passport control, you can head to the baggage claim hall. Here, you will see different carousels with conveyor belts. You can check the large screens to see which number carousel your airline will be using. After collecting your belongings, you will then walk through the customs area and will be led out into the Puerto Vallarta Airport Arrivals Hall.
Puerto Vallarta Airport Transport
Getting from Puerto Vallarta Airport arrivals to the hotel zone or city centre of Puerto Vallarta couldn’t be easier. A great budget transfer option is either the C-22A, C-26A or C-36 public bus, which will take 15 minutes to reach the hotel zone. Alternatively, you can take a local taxi or pre-book a private transfer for a more seamless journey. The airport taxis will take just 10 minutes to reach the door of your hotel in Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta Airport Arrivals Parking
There’s one large parking lot at Puerto Vallarta Airport, located just outside of domestic Terminal A. The cost for parking starts at €2.50 (MXN 50) for up to an hour. There’s also a small pick-up area just outside of Puerto Vallarta Arrivals that you can use to collect your loved ones free of charge. You can stay in the arrivals pick-up area for a maximum of 5 minutes.
