Athens International Airport has one large terminal and a small satellite terminal, home to over 61 airlines. There are two arrival areas in the main building, Hall A for non-Schengen flights and Hall B for Schengen flights. Main Terminal

Location – Arrivals Hall is on the Ground Floor.

Satellite Terminal (seasonal)

Location – Arrivals Hall is on the Ground Floor.

Arriving at Athens Airport

Upon disembarking, follow the signs for “Arrivals”. If you’re an EU citizen travelling inside the Schengen zone, you can skip passport control but make sure you carry some form of official ID regardless. EU biometric passport holders can also use the eGates to skip the long queues. If you are travelling from outside of the Schengen zone, you’ll need to make sure you have the correct travel documents and go through passport control. 

Next, follow the signs to the baggage claim area and collect your luggage. From there, you can make your way through customs and exit into the Athens Airport Arrivals Hall. Don’t forget to check customs regulations for entering Greece before travelling.

Athens Airport Transport

The airport is well-connected to destinations in and around Athens city. You can use Athens Airport public transport including the metro and express buses. Likewise, airport taxis and private transfer vehicles are located directly outside of the main terminal building.

*If you’re arriving at the Satellite Terminal, you’ll need to walk 10-15 minutes via the underground link to get to the main terminal Arrivals Hall, where you’ll find passport control and baggage claim.

Athens Airport Parking

You have just one option when it comes to parking at Athens Airport Arrivals. Short-term parking lots (1 and 2) are on the Arrivals Level, opposite the main terminal building. The first 20 minutes are free-of-charge and you can exit and re-enter up to two times, giving you a total of 40 minutes of free parking. Once your two entries are up, Athens Airport parking prices start at €5 per hour.
