Having replaced Tempelhof, Schönefeld, and Tegel airports, BER Airport is now the main commercial airport serving Berlin and its surrounding areas. With an average of 34 million annual passengers, it has become the third busiest airport in Germany and ranked in the top fifteen busiest in Europe.

Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) has three terminals, although Terminal 5 (the old airport) is closed. Terminal 1 is the largest terminal and Terminal 2 serves low-cost airlines. Each terminal provides all the necessary facilities such as charging points, currency exchange and cash services, silent rooms, toilets and baby changing rooms, showers, medical facilities and information desks.
