What’s next?

To ensure everyone’s safety, SJD departures will need to undergo a security check before being admitted to the boarding area, regardless of whether you’re flying overseas or locally. Once you have your boarding pass, head to the Security gates to show the officer on duty, along with your passport.

To clear Security, you’ll need to empty your pockets and remove loose items such as keys, wallets, coins, and lighters. Clothing items like hats, jackets, and belts should also be taken off and placed in one of the plastic tubs provided. Nail scissors or any other sharp objects need to be packed in your checked luggage.

Once that is sorted, take out any electronics such as iPads and laptops and place them in a tub also. Lastly, you will need to separate any liquids, aerosols, and gels into a clear resealable bag. Each container needs to be under 100 mL, otherwise, you will need to discard it or come prepared to pack it in your checked luggage.

During the summer months and holiday periods, it can take up to 40 minutes to reach the front of the queue. To speed up the process, a few third-party companies and Business Lounges offer a VIP service which includes access to a Fast track lane.
