Arrivals at Istanbul Airport

Upon disembarking, follow the blue signs to Istanbul Airport passport control. There are two lines at IST Airport Arrivals, one for Turkish passport holders and another for international visitors. If you fall under the latter, we recommend checking visa and immigration advice before your arrival. Requirements for travel to Turkey depend on your nationality and the duration and purpose of your stay. It’s also important to ensure your passport is valid for at least 60 days beyond the expiration date.

Once you’ve cleared passport control, follow the signs to the baggage claim area and collect your luggage. From there, you can make your way through Istanbul Airport customs and exit into the Arrivals Hall. Remember to check customs regulations for entering Turkey before travelling.

You’ll find ticket offices and signs leading to public transportation options on Istanbul Airport’s arrivals floor, such as buses to various destinations and the metro. Car hire booths, local taxis, and airport taxi services are also available from IST Airport Arrivals.

What if you get to the airport early or your passenger’s flight is late? Not to worry, Istanbul Airport’s large, modern terminal building is packed with an array of facilities and services to keep you occupied. Travellers can access WiFi, currency exchange and cash services, prayer rooms, car hire offices, transport options, retail stores, and restaurants and cafes such as Burger King and Popeyes.

Parking for Istanbul Airport Arrivals

Istanbul Airport parking options include one of the world’s largest multi-storey car parks and a cheaper, open parking area. There are no pickup or dropoff areas, so when picking up a friend or family member, your only option is to park in one of these car parks.

Open parking: 8-minute walk to terminal – free of charge for up to 15 minutes, then the first hour costs €2.15 (TRY 70) – great budget option.

Multi-level parking: 5-minute walk to the terminal, prices start at €2.75 (TRY 90) for up to 1 hour – ideal for pickups and short stays.
