Arriving at Miami Airport
Your process for arrivals at Miami Airport will depend on where you’re flying from. If you’ve been on a domestic flight, you will head straight through to baggage claim, bypassing Passport Control. On the other hand, if you are entering Miami Airport Arrivals from an international destination, you will need to first pass through Passport Control before collecting your luggage.
In Passport Control, you will see different lines: Foreign Visitors, U.S. Nationals and Global Entry. If you meet the criteria for Global Entry, you can use the electronic passport machines to speed up your entry process. Otherwise, you will join the correct line and wait for your turn to speak to the Customs and Border Protection officer. You will be asked to present your passport and any documentation needed, such as an ESTA if you’re travelling from the UK or another VWP country.
Once through passport control, you will then enter the baggage claim hall. Here, you can see which carousel your flight will be using by checking the large screens as you enter. Once you have your luggage in hand, you can make your way through the small customs area and out into the Miami Airport Arrivals Hall.

Miami Airport is extremely well connected to South Beach and downtown Miami. For a budget-friendly transfer, you can take the Airport Express Bus into downtown Miami in around 40 minutes. Alternatively, you can use a local Miami Airport taxi or private transfer and enjoy a seamless and direct transfer to the very door of your accommodation in Miami.

Miami Airport Arrivals Parking
If you’re planning to pick up a loved one from Miami Airport arrivals, there are two parking options for you: the Dolphin Garage or the Flamingo Garage. The Dolphin Garage is located within walking distance of the North and Central Terminal buildings and costs $2 (€1.80) for 20 minutes. If your loved one is landing in the South Terminal, you can use the Flamingo Garage, which is located next to the South Terminal entrance. The cost of parking in the Flamingo Garage is also $2 (€1.80) for 20 minutes.
