Checking in at Porto Airport
From Porto Airport, passengers can fly to more than 100 destinations domestically and internationally. Most airlines open online check-in at least 24 hours in advance, allowing you to check in for your flight at home – or on the go – through the airline’s website or with the ANA app. Alternatively, you can check in at the airport; certain airlines provide a Self-Service Kiosk where you can check in and collect your boarding pass, otherwise, refer to the information screens to find your airline’s counter.
If you’re travelling with baggage and have checked in online or via the Self-Service Kiosk, you’ll need to drop your bags at the designated Baggage Drop Counter before entering Security.

When to arrive at Porto Airport?
It is recommended that departures from Porto Airport arrive at least 1.5 hours in advance for flights within the Schengen Zone, 2 hours in advance for all other European destinations, and 3 hours in advance for intercontinental destinations. In all cases, you should confirm with your airline when they suggest arriving at the airport.

Once you’ve checked in, keep your boarding pass and identification handy, as they will be required at several points within the airport Porto departures area. Make your way to the Security Clearance area, where you’ll need to present your bags for x-ray. To make the screening process easier, it’s best to prepare your bags before getting to the airport. Separate any liquids under 100 mL into a single transparent bag, anything over this should be packed in your hold luggage at check-in.
At Porto Airport Departures, this process generally takes around 10 minutes, however, this can increase significantly during peak travel periods. To reduce the time spent in the queue, a Fast Track pass can be booked through your airline or the ANA app for €9. This way you can breeze through Security and have more time to spend shopping or relaxing at a restaurant or Lounge.

Plenty of restaurants and shops can be found within Departures at Porto Airport on Level 2 of the main terminal building, including Porto Duty-free. There are also Lounges available for both economy and business passengers. Furthermore, throughout the Departures Area, you can access free WiFi, currency exchange services, accessible toilets, a children’s play area and comfortable seating.
