Prague Airport Live Departures

Checking in at Prague Airport

There are a few ways to check in for your Prague Airport departure: you check in at your airline’s counter, online in advance, or using the self-service check-in and bag drop machines.

To locate your airline’s check-in counter, check the flight information screens in the terminal or our live Prague Airport Departures board.

Alternatively, you can use the self-service check in and bag drop kiosks in either terminal to print your boarding pass and drop your bags off. Or, if you don’t want to mess around with check in procedures at the airport, most airlines offer online check in via their website and/or mobile app up to 24 hours before departure. This means you can head straight to security upon arrival, unless you have bags to drop of course.

The airport also offers a private check in service for those after a faster, more premium departure experience. For further information, check our Prague Airport Guide.

When to arrive for departures from Prague Airport?

Check-in counters at Prague Airport typically open 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time and close 40 minutes before take off. The airport recommends arriving with ample time to clear check in and security procedures. For example, if you need to check in at the airport and drop bags off, you should arrive 2 hours in advance. Whereas if you’ve checked in online and only have cabin bags, you can arrive a little later to avoid wasting time at the airport.

What’s next?

Once check-in is complete, you can head towards security with your boarding pass in hand. However, it’s important to check what you can and can’t bring in your luggage before getting to the airport. Liquids must be stored in clear 100 ml containers and placed into a transparent plastic bag. The limit is 1-litres worth of liquids.

At security, you’ll need to remove any large electronic devices and your liquids from your baggage and place them in the trays, separately from your bags. Make sure you remove everything from your pockets, as well as any jewellery, watches, belts, and coats.

Prague Airport security wait times are around 20-30 minutes. However, waiting times can extend during peak periods.

*If you’d prefer to ensure a speedy process, you can book the fast track lounge at Prague Airport, which includes a dedicated security checkpoint.
