Arriving at Faro Airport

After disembarking your plane, you will enter the Ground Floor inside Faro Airport Arrivals. Where you go next will depend on where your flight originated from. If you flew from a Schengen country will be directed straight to Baggage Claim, while flights from outside of Europe or from a non-Schengen country will be directed to Passport Control. If you need to enter Passport Control, be sure to have your documents and ID on hand to show the Border Control Agents. There are different lines in Passport Control: EU Citizen and Foreign Visitors, so be sure to choose the correct line. Once you have made your way through Passport Control, you will enter the Baggage Claim area. 


In Baggage Claim, you will see large screens that display exactly which carousel your luggage will be exiting on. Head to that carousel and wait for your belongings to be passed along the conveyor belt. After you have all your luggage and personal items with you, you can walk through customs and out into the Faro Airport Arrivals Hall.

If you’re on a super tight budget, you can use the Line 16 bus which will get you into Faro in just 20 minutes. Taxis are also available from 05:00 to 23:00 from outside arrivals at Faro Airport and take just 10 minutes to reach the city centre.
