If you’re travelling outside of the summer months, there is no direct service from the airport to Lagos. You would first have to take the No 16 bus from the airport to Faro main station, and from there you can take a connecting EVA bus to Lagos, such as Bus 57.

The Aerobus service is a great budget option and it’s direct, getting you to your destination in 2 hours. The only downside to this service is that it doesn’t operate during the winter months and even during the summer – it only departs 5 times a day. So if you’re landing between buses, you may have a long wait.

Outside of May to October, your only option is to catch Bus 16 to Faro city centre and then hop on a connecting service to Lagos. Whilst the travel time will be long it’s still a good budget choice if you can handle the changeovers and waiting times.

Editor’s Note

When travelling from Faro bus station, you cannot buy your bus tickets directly from the driver. You will have to purchase your tickets at the ticket counter or automatic machine. However, it is important to note that the ticket office can get very busy during high season.

The Aerobus service is the main connection from the airport to central and western Algarve, meaning it can get pretty busy, especially in peak season.
If you're heading into Faro first, the bus station is located 1 km north of the centre of town, thus travellers need to walk an extra 5 minutes to get to the central district of Lagos after arriving by bus.
