As the main airport of the Algarve region in southern Portugal, Faro Airport handles a great number of daily flights, especially during the summer period. The airport is 6.5 km southwest of Faro City and you have three transportation options to get from Faro Airport to the city: taxi, private transfer, and bus.
Airport taxis are generally considered the easiest and most convenient travel options; trips around the city last less than 15 minutes with prices ranging from €15-€25.
Your only other option to get to Faro city centre is Bus 16 provided by Proximo. It’s a great budget-friendly choice as a regular one-way ticket costs just €2.25, however, the journey lasts a little longer than a taxi, taking around 20 minutes, not including time waiting for the bus.
Welcome Pickups offers meet and greet services and a friendly introduction to Faro at the same price as a regular taxi. Click here to see the cost.
