First, you’ll take Aerobus No 56 from Faro Airport to Lagoa Terminal Rodoviário. The bus leaves every 2 hours or so and the journey takes over 2 hours. Once you’ve arrived in Lagoa, you’ll have a waiting time of up to 2 hours until your next bus, Bus No 51, which takes about 36 minutes to get to your final stop in Alvor.

Taking a bus from Faro Airport to Alvor is the cheapest transfer option, costing a total of €14. A one-way fare for Aerobus 56 is €12 and a single ticket for urban bus line 51 costs just €1.55. The 56 Aerobus from Faro Airport operates from 08:30 to 20:15 and from 06:00 to 17:45 if you’re travelling in the opposite direction. The 51 bus route operates every day from 08:39-18:54.

Although the bus is the cheapest option, the lack of direct routes makes it less convenient. With changeovers and long waiting times between buses, the journey takes significantly longer than local taxis or private transfers from Faro Airport to Alvor.

When arriving late at night, your only option is a taxi or private transfer. The first bus to Lagoa departs at 09:15. However, you can take buses into the centre of Faro from 06:00.
