Arriving at Los Angeles Airport
After disembarking your plane at Los Angeles, follow the signs to passport control. If you’re arriving on a domestic flight, the Arrivals process is quicker as you likely won’t need to pass immigration. You’ll pass straight through to the domestic Arrivals Hall in Terminal B.
However, all international flights will pass through passport control, where relevant travel documents will be checked. Make sure you have a valid passport and visa (if applicable).
Once you’ve gone through immigration successfully, you can head to the baggage reclaim section if you have checked luggage to collect. If you lose any luggage, consult the airline desks in the Arrivals Hall.
After baggage reclaim, there is a customs area. If you know that you’ll have items to declare before you fly, you should fill out the Customs Declaration Form available from the US Travel Bureau. After disembarking your plane at Los Angeles, follow the signs to passport control. Los Angeles Airport Transport
There are four main means of transport available for arrivals at Los Angeles Airport: taxi, transfer, bus, or metro.
Los Angeles Airport taxis are available 24/7 and will get you to downtown Los Angeles in approximately 30 minutes.

If you’d rather take public transport, you can take the metro. First, hop on the free Metro C Line shuttle to Aviation/LAX Metro Rail Station. From there, it takes around 1 hour to reach downtown LA.
Alternatively, you can take the FlyAway Bus, which departs the Ground Transportation Center at LAX every 30 minutes.
For those wishing to rent a car, there are plenty of car rental kiosks at arrivals in Los Angeles Airport, including Avis, Budget, Enterprise, and Sixt. However, each company has its own shuttle to take you to their main offices and car collections.
What to do in Arrivals at Los Angeles Airport?
Given the size of LAX, there are plenty of facilities available for Los Angeles International Airport Arrivals. You’ll find drinking water fountains, accessible toilets, baby change areas, ATMs, free Wi-Fi, and service animal relief areas. You’ll also find an electronics store, a grocery store, and coffee shops like Starbucks and The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

Los Angeles Airport Arrivals Parking
If you’re picking up someone from inside Los Angeles Airport Arrivals, there are two free Cell Phone Waiting Lots available. You can wait there for free for two hours until your passengers are ready to be picked up in the Central Terminal Area. (Note: You cannot leave your car unattended in the Cell Phone Waiting Lots.)
The central terminal parking lot has over 7,000 spots, and you can park there for free for 10 minutes for immediate pickups. If you need to park for longer, rates start at $9 for the first hour and $7 for every 30 minutes following the first hour.
