The bustling city of New York has three surrounding airports: JFK, Newark, and LaGuardia. LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is the busiest airport in the US in terms of passenger numbers. A whopping 34 million people travel through it every year via a handful of domestic and international airlines like Delta Air Lines, US Airways, American Airlines and Air Canada. Split over three main terminals, it’s worth learning as much as you can about New York LaGuardia Airport so you don’t get lost.

Accessibility for Travellers with Disabilities
New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is fully equipped to support travellers with disabilities.
Hearing loops are available throughout the airport. You can also use Artificial Intelligence Remote Assistance (AIRA) via an online app.
Disabled parking is available at a discount (see parking section below for more details).
Free wheelchairs and mobility assistance services are available but you’ll need to book this via your airline 72 hours before your flight.
If you have a hidden disability such as hearing loss, autism, or PTSD, LaGuardia is part of the Sunflower Lanyard initiative. This international programme is simple yet effective. All you need to do is wear a sunflower lanyard which will subtly signal to the airport staff that you may need extra support. If you don’t already have a sunflower lanyard, you can request a free one from any of the welcome centres located in the terminal buildings (there’s one at each terminal).
For support through security, you can contact the TSA Cares helpline 72 hours in advance of travel.
